Judges Resources

MDNAWGJ judges have a long history of excellence. We spend countless hours reviewing material, working on quizzes, attending clinics and camps, and using tools like flashcards. Over the years, we have also been fortunate to learn from many outstanding mentors, including Myra Elfenbein Lynn Perrott and Linda Johnson to name a few.

We take studying very seriously because our goal is not simply to pass, but to excel. When we excel, we provide our athletes—who work extremely hard themselves—with scoring that is reputable, fair, and consistent.

Please do not take this testing lightly. It is not just about the test; it is about what you learn along the way. The quizzes and clinics provided are essential. During our breaks at competitions, even when they are short, let’s take the time to discuss values, review rules, talk through the quizzes, and yes— work on Myra’s puzzles.
